Honda Activa is the largest selling scooter in India. It sells almost 2 million units yearly. It has a reputation of being cheap and frugal.
For any electric vehicle to be successful, it must compete against Activa and make economic sense.

I have chosen the Ather 450 Plus and not the 450X for a very simple reason.Ather 450 plus by itself is far superior to Activa in terms of features, acceleration etc.
Ather 450 Plus is superior to more expensive Honda models like Grazia 125.
I have used Activa base model for comparison to prove that Ather 450 plus is cheaper in the long run even when compared to the base model Activa.

Bajaj Chetak was initially launched at a much lower price. At this initial price of 115,000, it was the product to compete against Activa. It would have been Bajaj’s sweet revenge on Honda.
However, Bajaj increased the price of the scooter twice.
Bajaj Chetak is a far superior product compared to Activa and it still makes economic sense but only for people who would use the scooter daily extensively.
